The Association for the Caravanning Industry (CIVD) represents the interests of the industrial segment of the German caravanning industry. By now it has 116 members (Feb. 2010) consisting of German and European manufacturers of caravans and motor homes, plus numerous supply companies, service providers as well as public institutions and associations.

The Association, founded in 1962, represents all aspects of the German caravanning industry in terms of dealings regarding national and European policies or dealings with authorities and institutions. The focus here is on technical questions and matters regarding norms in vehicle construction, and in particular numerous issues relating to consumer protection regulations.

The international trade fair Caravan Salon held in Düsseldorf is the key annual event. As the patron of the world's largest trade fair for leisure vehicles the CIVD provides important impulses for the caravanning industry in Europe.
