Throughout the year, the CIVD offers workshops and information events on topics relevant to the industry - from legal seminars to workshops for beginners.

The spectrum of technical and legal requirements for leisure vehicle manufacturers and suppliers is constantly growing. The CIVD therefore attaches great importance to offering its members workshops and information events on all industry-related topics, which are specially tailored to the needs of the industry.
For example, the normative requirements for caravans and motor caravans are presented and explained in detail in the workshops on living space standardization. This applies, for example, to liquid gas and 12 V and 230 V electrical installations. The latest developments in projects managed by the CIVD, such as the CI-BUS, are also highlighted. Information events on EC type-approval round off the range of services.
In addition, an international law firm has been holding workshops on “contract design, warranty, guarantee and product liability” for more than 20 years. In these workshops, the system of liability for material defects, guarantees and current cases is explained with a great deal of industry knowledge and practical know-how.

The range of workshops is constantly being expanded and updated. The CIVD endeavours to include further industry-relevant topics in the practice-related workshops. A workshop focused on topics of international sales and export in the EU and also addressed the possible consequences of BREXIT at an early stage.

The European Basic Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO), which came into force at the end of May 2018, posed enormous legal challenges for practice in the caravanning sector. This very complex topic was also highlighted in a workshop specially organised for CIVD members.

New in the CIVD seminar offer is the beginner’s workshop “CIVD legal seminar for beginners in the caravanning industry”, which imparts basic legal knowledge in the areas of contract design, warranty, guarantee and product liability. This is aimed at those who have never attended a CIVD legal workshop before or simply want to refresh their knowledge.
