Leisure vehicles worldwide

The first year after the global economic crisis is again characterised by reports of positive sales developments. Compared with the crisis year of 2009, the largest market for leisure vehicles, North America, grew by 49.6 percent, with 275,500 sold units in 2010. Europe, the second-largest market, was the only market that experienced a decline of 2.5 percent with 150,500 units. 2010 was also the fi rst time that Australia, ranked in third place globally, was able to sell more than 20,000 leisure vehicles. New registrations for 2010 therefore increased by a welcome 27.2 percent compared with the previous year. The Chinese market almost tripled between 2006 and 2008, and shrank to less than half following the collapse in 2009. In 2010, sales returned to 2007 levels.

Double-digit growth rates are expected for both the American and European markets in 2011, while a positive sales situation is forecast for the remaining countries and continents.
